People from the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States (US) speak the same language, but the countries are quite different. Read on and find out about them.

The UK’s flag * is the combination of the three flags of England, Scotland and Ireland. It is called ’Union Jack’.

                                              

US

The American flag *is called ‘Stars and Stripes’ or ‘Bars and Stars’.  The stars represent American’s fifty states.

      Big Ben is the name  of the bell   in the tower  of the Houses  of  Parliament in London                                                                        

US

The State of Liberty is on Liberty Island in New York Harbour *.  It was a present from France to the USA in 1886. There is a small Statue of Liberty in Paris. 

                                             THE QUEEN of UK VS THE US PRESIDENT

UK. The Queen lives in Buckingham Palace when she is in London. She has other places where she spends too, some time such as Windsor Castle or Balmoral Castle. 

US. The President lives in the White House in Washington, the capital of the USA.

                                                                       MONEY

UK. In Britain, the currency* is the pound* and the pence*. THere are 100 pence in a pound. 

US. USA´s currency* is the dollar and the cents. There are 100 cents in a dollar.

THe traditional Bristish fast food is Fish and Chips, although the chips shops aslo sell different things, such as sausages, burgers, chicken... 

US

Americans love hamburguers! Some of them eat three hamburgers a week*. Some of them also love  Mexican food . 

Those are some of the differences of these two English speaking countries. It is quite interesting, don´t you think?
