Some Fridays ago, on February the 22th, we had the visit of three teachers from Oughtibridge Primary School in Sheffield. They came to see how fantastically we work in our day by day and all the projects that are being developed in our school at the moment.
For a start, they were astonished about how 'Interactive Groups' are held and also they liked the idea of integrating the parents actively in the education of their children.

They also visited some English language oral classes, taught by two different teachers at the same time ( the assistant teacher and the regular one)

They had a laugh when they saw our carnival's 'big sardine' and how it is made by glueing all the scales on it. They do not celebrate it in their school, what a pity! and... how lucky we are!

Finally they got a broad idea of infant grades organization. They were pleased to see how the little 2, 3 and 4 year-olds manage to do all kind of activities along their school day.

They also enjoyed a tour of Castro Urdiales and a delicious lunch by the harbour.
The following up activity in a near future in the English classes will be keeping in touch with them by mail or e-mail and like that showing our students how useful and interresting is having a penpal to share experiences and also practice their English at the same time!
El pasado viernes 22 de febrero contamos con la visita de profesorado proveniente del colegio Oughtibridge Primary de Sheffield para ver cómo trabajamos en el cole, nuestros proyectos y diferentes actividades que tienen lugar actualmente.
Durante la jornada escolar visitaron diferentes clases, desde los más peques a los mayores. Les llamó la atención cómo llevamos a cabo el aprendizaje en grupos interactivos involucrando al resto de la Comunidad Educativa en el proceso. También estuvieron en las clases orales de Inglés, donde los grupos trabajan simultáneamente con dos profesores, el titular y el auxiliar de conversación.
Les pareció muy divertida la celebración del Carnaval y cómo elaboramos nuestra sardina. Ellos no disfrutan de esta fiesta en su colegio. ¡Qué suerte tenemos!
Para finalizar la jornada, visitaron las clases de los más pequeños, comprobando lo autónomos que son en las actividades que realizan.
También disfrutaron de un soleado paseo por nuestro Castro y de un delicioso almuerzo en el puerto.
La siguiente actividad será mantener contacto con ellos por correo postal o electrónico y que nuestro alumnado ponga en práctica sus destrezas escritas y así compartir sus vivencias con los niños y niñas de Sheffield.
